Kenya made history this past weekend by hosting the PUBG Mobile Africa Cup 2025 for the very first time. The two-day tournament, held on 13th and 14th September at Charter Hall, Nairobi, brought together 16 of Africa’s best PUBG Mobile squads for two days of action-packed competition, with fans filling the venue to cheer on their favorite teams and cemented Kenya’s place on the African esports map.
The tournament featured a US$8,000 prize pool and served as Africa’s official qualifier for the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2025. After a weekend of intense battles across multiple maps, XForce Rejects from South Africa emerged victorious, claiming both the champion’s title and US$2,000 in prize money.

Rejects X took second place, earning US$1,400, while R’Rage Astranova finished third with US$1,000. Twelve Esports rounded out the top four, taking home US$700. Teams placing 5th to 16th shared the remaining prize pool.
Organized by KRAFTON, Level Infinite, and NODWIN Gaming, and proudly sponsored by Infinix and S-Hook, the event highlighted the rapid growth of competitive gaming across Africa. Infinix also used the occasion to showcase its latest gaming smartphones, giving fans a chance to experience high-performance devices firsthand.

The atmosphere inside Charter Hall was electric as teams went head-to-head in high-stakes matches, keeping fans on the edge of their seats. The victory by XForce Rejects not only earned them the trophy but also secured their spot at the PMGC 2025, where they will represent Africa on the global stage.
Speaking after the win, team representatives praised the tournament’s organization and promised to make Africa proud at the upcoming world championship.
The success of the event is expected to further boost Kenya’s reputation as an esports hub, opening doors for more international competitions to be hosted locally and inspiring a new generation of competitive gamers.
