Senator John Methu Admits Regret Over Supporting President Ruto

Nyandarua Senator John Methu has publicly expressed deep regret for his role in campaigning for and voting for President William Ruto, describing it as a monumental mistake. In a candid admission, he stated, “I made a mistake of monumental magnitude by voting for William Ruto.” He further apologized to the Kenyan populace, saying, “I deeply apologise to Kenyans.”

Senator Methu’s disillusionment stems from his perception that President Ruto is offering solutions that do not address the nation’s core issues. He likened the administration’s approach to attempting to treat diarrhea by sewing the exit, suggesting a misdirected strategy.

Addressing the challenges faced by the Mt. Kenya region, Methu noted a significant erosion of trust in Ruto’s leadership. He highlighted the difficulties encountered by the President’s representatives in delivering condolence messages at funerals, interpreting this as a deeper crisis in the region’s relationship with the administration. He urged President Ruto to reflect on his actions, particularly the removal of key leaders, emphasizing that the authority to elect him came from the people.

In a recent social media post, Senator Methu challenged President Ruto’s policies, stating, “You are trying to treat diarrhea by sewing the exit.”
