The wait is over. Today, Ulinzi Sports Complex plays host to one of the most anticipated matches of the Kenyan football season : the Mozzart Bet Cup final. Record FKF Premier League champions Gor Mahia face off with National Super League winners Nairobi United in a clash that will not only determine the domestic cup winner but also decide who represents Kenya in the CAF Confederation Cup next season.
For Gor Mahia, this final is more than just a shot at silverware , it’s their last chance to salvage a season that saw them fall short of the league title. A win today would restore pride, secure a continental ticket, and bring home the Mozzart Bet Cup trophy they last won in 2021.

Nairobi United, meanwhile, arrive with nothing to lose and everything to gain. Having risen from Division One just two seasons ago, and now newly promoted to the top tier, their fairytale journey has stunned Kenyan football. This will be their first-ever domestic cup final, but the underdogs have already knocked out four FKF Premier League sides to get here: Tusker, KCB, Kakamega Homeboyz, and Mara Sugar.
As tension builds, Gor Mahia treasurer Gerphas Okuku issued a stirring rallying call to the Green Army
“As we head into the Mozzart Bet Cup final, we do so united — not just as a team, but as a Gor Mahia family. This match is about pride, legacy, and honoring the unwavering support of our fans. Let’s turn out in numbers, raise our voices, and show what Gor Mahia ni zaidi ya timu truly means. See you at the final — Gor Biro, Yawne Yo!”
Head coach Zedekiah “Zico” Otieno struck a serious tone ahead of kickoff: “It’s just a must-win situation for us. It’s a final , you don’t have any room for errors.”

His message was echoed by in-form midfielder Austin Odhiambo, who said:
“As a player at Gor Mahia, there’s always that pressure — you have to win a title every season. Tomorrow, we have a chance to do that, and I believe it’s an opportunity God has given us to appreciate our fans because we’ve really let them down this season. Gor is a big team, and in this match, we as players have decided to do it for the fans.”
In terms of team news, Gor Mahia will be without three key players ; left back Geoffrey Ochieng, center back Kennedy Onyango, and backup goalkeeper Giscard , all ruled out through long-term injuries and recent surgeries.
On the other end, Nairobi United come into the final with belief and freedom, carrying the weight of hope rather than pressure. Defender Daniel Bichiok spoke with quiet confidence:
“We have nothing to lose. We want to go play well and hopefully win the game. Beating them is possible. It’s all about chances. Other people have gotten the opportunity to be here, and now it’s our turn.”
Coach Nicholas Muyoti was equally composed: “The pressure here is facing a team that is one of the best in the country, but the history won’t play. It’s 11 vs 11, and everyone will give their best.”
As fans stream into the stadium, the occasion will also be lit up by a live performance from Ohangla sensation Prince Indah, who is expected to fire up the crowd before kickoff. The entertainment on the pitch may be matched by what happens off it , a true festival of football.

Kickoff is set for 3:00 PM EAT.
