Victor Mola — The Breakout Star of the 2025 Sevens Circuit

If there’s one name that has consistently lit up the National Sevens Circuit this year, it’s Victor Mola. The Strathmore Leos flyer has redefined the art of finishing, clocking double-digit try hauls across multiple tournaments and scooping individual accolades like clockwork.

Mola announced himself at Prinsloo Sevens, where he bagged 8 tries and 40 points, earning both Top Try Scorer and Top Point Scorer. He followed that up at Christie Sevens with another 8-try haul, tying with KCB’s Floyd Wabwire, and once again reminded the crowd of his electric pace and evasive running lines.

By the time the circuit hit Kababeri, Mola was virtually unstoppable. He torched defences for 10 tries and 50 points, a rare feat that placed him firmly at the top of the individual scoring charts. Whether it was wide-open space or tight corners, Mola made the try-line look magnetized to his boots. His impact goes beyond stats. At just 22, Mola has become the heartbeat of Strathmore Leos’ attacking structure. His work rate off the ball, defensive commitment, and ability to link play make him a complete sevens player , not just a finisher. In Embu, he shared the top try scorer award again, this time with Impala’s David Nyangige.

Strathmore’s two tournament wins — Prinsloo and Embu ,were built on moments of brilliance from Mola, supported by equally talented teammates like Barnabas Owour, who was named Player of the Final in Embu. But make no mistake ,Mola’s consistency set him apart.

As scouts and national selectors watch on, it’s increasingly clear that Victor Mola’s time is now. He’s not just the breakout star of 2025 he’s the blueprint for Kenya’s next generation of sevens greatness.
