In a season defined by flair, pace, and breakout talent, one name has consistently stood above the rest: Floyd Wabwire of KCB Rugby Club. The young flyer has not only been central to KCB’s dominant run in the 2025 National Sevens Circuit, but also emerged as one of the brightest stars of the entire campaign.
Wabwire’s rise began in spectacular fashion at the Driftwood Sevens, where he was the undisputed standout. He was named Player of the Final, finished as Top Try Scorer with 8 tries, and also topped the points tally ; earning himself Ksh. 10,000 and sending a clear message to the rest of the circuit. His explosive running, instinctive positioning, and clinical finishing gave KCB the extra edge they needed to secure their first title of the season.

But that was only the beginning.
Wabwire maintained his red-hot form into the Christie Sevens, where KCB once again lifted the trophy. Sharing Top Try Scorer honors with Strathmore Leos’ Victor Mola, Wabwire reinforced his status as a deadly finisher on the wing. His contribution didn’t just come in the form of points; his defensive work rate and positional awareness made him invaluable during crunch moments ,particularly in tight knockout matches where KCB’s structure and composure came under pressure.
Recognition followed swiftly. He was named Most Valuable Player of the Christie Sevens, a rare back-to-back feat that underlined both his consistency and importance to KCB’s overall campaign.
With the spotlight often focused on veterans like Vincent Onyala and Bob Muhati ,who themselves won MVP and Player of the Final accolades at Kababeri , it’s Wabwire’s emergence that has given KCB new dynamism. He represents the next wave of talent coming through a well-drilled system, built on mentorship, depth, and tactical discipline.

And for Wabwire, the move from Daystar Falcons to KCB at the start of this season has paid off in full. Not only has he grown into a key player for one of Kenya’s top sides, but he’s now a National Sevens Circuit champion , a deserving reward for a player whose game continues to rise with every tournament.
