Gor Mahia were forced into an abrupt change of plans on Friday morning after four senior players were involved in a road accident while heading to training. Fidel Origa, Joshua Onyango ‘Mangulu’, Austin Odhiambo and Felix Oluoch were travelling together in Origa’s private car when the incident occurred at the Outering Roundabout.
According to accounts given to LTN Sports, the car was being driven by midfielder Austin Odhiambo. Moments before the crash, the players reported sudden brake problems which left Austin struggling to control the vehicle. The car veered off its lane, hit a roadside barrier and, in the process, struck a motorcycle rider who was using the adjacent lane. The rider was thrown off but was quickly attended to by bystanders as emergency assistance was called in.
Passersby and nearby motorists quickly came to their aid before emergency responders moved them to AAR Buruburu Hospital for further assessment and treatment. The damaged car was later towed to a nearby garage as the club began piecing together details of what happened.
The morning accident prompted Gor Mahia to immediately cancel their scheduled training session as the technical bench and club officials shifted focus to the players’ welfare. The quartet is expected to undergo additional medical checks before any further updates are issued regarding their availability.

The incident briefly unsettled the camp, but the club remains relieved that the injuries were minor and that the situation did not escalate into something more tragic. Further communication from Gor Mahia is expected once the players have been fully evaluated.
