Shujaa Finish Seventh in Hong Kong HSBC SVNS World Championship After big Win Over France.

Kenya 7s wrapped up their Hong Kong SVNS campaign with a 21–7 victory over France at Kai Tak Sports Park, securing a seventh-place finish after bouncing back strongly from their quarter-final heartbreak.

Shujaa showed early intent, breaking the deadlock in the sixth minute when Nygel Amaitsa powered over for the opening try, giving Kenya a 7–0 lead. France responded before halftime, with Maxim Granell crossing to level matters at 7–7 and set up a balanced contest heading into the break.

Kenya returned sharper in the second half, with Festus Shiashi slicing through the defence before sprinting under the posts for a well-taken try, which was converted to restore Shujaa’s advantage at 14–7.

With momentum firmly on their side, Shujaa continued to press and made it count from a scrum situation. Co-captain Samuel Asati took control, crossing over for Kenya’s third try, with the successful conversion stretching the lead to 21–7 and effectively sealing the result.

The victory ensured a positive end to Kenya’s Hong Kong outing, with the side showing resilience to recover from their narrow defeat to South Africa in the main cup quarter-finals.

Attention now turns to the next leg of the series in Valladolid, scheduled for April 29–30, where Shujaa will be targeting a top-eight finish as they continue their push for HSBC SVNS Division 1 qualification.
