Jimi Wanjigi Wins Legal Battle as Court Dismisses Firearms Case and Slams DPP

Businessman Jimi Wanjigi has achieved a significant legal victory as the High Court quashed the State’s decision to revoke his firearm license. Justice Bahati Mwamuye ruled that the revocation was unlawful and barred the police and the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) from arresting or prosecuting Wanjigi on charges related to his firearms certificate.

In a related development, the court also terminated the criminal trial of two casual laborers, Dancan Odhiambo Otieno and Calvin Ochieng Odongo, who had been arrested with explosives outside Wanjigi’s Muthaiga home. Justice Mwamuye determined that their prosecution was tainted with illegality and constituted an abuse of process.

These rulings underscore the court’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring that legal processes are conducted fairly and within the bounds of the Constitution.
