Autopsy Confirms MP Charles Were Was Killed by Five Close-Range Gunshots

An autopsy conducted today has revealed that the late Kasipul MP Charles Ong’ondo Were sustained five gunshot wounds, all inflicted from the left side of his body. The postmortem findings indicate that the shots were fired at close range, with one bullet entering his chest and exiting through his back, while another struck his heart, causing fatal internal injuries. The MP succumbed to excessive bleeding shortly after the attack, which occurred on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.

In connection with the investigation, four individuals, including a police officer, have been arrested. Authorities are examining mobile data, recovered firearms, and witness statements to determine the motive behind the targeted killing. The incident has raised concerns about the safety of political leaders, prompting calls for enhanced security measures.
