Members of Parliament (MPs) will commence the vetting process for President William Ruto’s nominees for Principal Secretary (PS) positions. National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula has directed that the respective parliamentary committees conduct approval hearings for the nominees.
The vetting schedule for today includes the following nominees appearing before their respective committees at 10:00 am:
- Ahmed Ibrahim (National Government Coordination) before the Committee on Administration and Internal Security.
- Stephen Isaboke (State Department for Broadcasting and Telecommunications) before the Committee on Communication, Information, and Innovation.
- Prof. Abdulrazak Shaukat (Science, Research, and Innovation) before the Committee on Education.
- Cyrell Wagunda (State Department for Public Investments and Assets Management) before the Committee on Finance and National Planning.
- Oluga Ouma (Medical Services PS) before the Committee on Health.
- Jane Imbunya (Public Service and Human Capital Development) before the Labour Committee.
- Michael Lenasalon (Devolution) before the Committee on Regional Development.
- Carren Achieng (Children Welfare Services) before the Social Protection Committee.
- Aden Abdi (Shipping & Maritime Affairs) before the Committee on Transport, Public Works, and Housing.
At noon, the following nominees are scheduled to appear before their respective committees:
- Boniface Makokha (Economic Planning) before the Committee on Planning and National Development.
- Fikirini Jacobs (Youth Affairs) before the Committee on Sports, Culture, and Tourism.
- Regina Ombam (Trade) before the Committee on Trade, Industry, and Cooperatives.
The vetting process is expected to continue over the next few days, with committees required to submit their reports by April 22, 2025.
