President William Ruto has nominated Mbeere North Member of Parliament, Geoffrey Kiringa Ruku, as the Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Human Capital Development, and Special Programmes. This appointment follows the dismissal of former CS Justin Muturi.
Ruku, aged 45, has expressed deep gratitude to President Ruto for the nomination, viewing it as a profound honor and a testament to the President’s confidence in his leadership. He pledged to serve with determination and diligence, emphasizing his commitment to delivering results in his new role.
The nomination was announced on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, by Chief of Staff Felix Koskei, who stated that the changes aim to strengthen the Executive and bolster the administration’s capacity to steer Kenya’s socio-economic transformation.
Ruku’s political journey began with his election as Mbeere North MP in 2022 on the Democratic Party ticket. Prior to his parliamentary role, he founded Climate Pal Ltd, a company focused on carbon emissions reduction projects in Kenya. His academic background includes a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Nairobi.
