Parliament Sets Dates for Vetting of President Ruto’s Principal Secretary Nominees

The National Assembly has scheduled approval hearings for President William Ruto’s nominees for Principal Secretary (PS) positions on Friday, April 4, 2025, and Monday, April 7, 2025. In an official notice, National Assembly Clerk Samuel Njoroge announced that the respective House Committees will conduct the evaluations.

Following the President’s submission of the nominations, Speaker Moses Wetang’ula informed Members of Parliament and referred the nominees to the relevant committees for consideration. This process aligns with the constitutional provisions and the Public Appointments (Parliamentary Approval) Act, ensuring that all nominees undergo thorough vetting before assuming office.

The committees are expected to submit their reports upon completion of the approval hearings. Subsequently, the Speaker will notify MPs of the date and time for special sittings to deliberate on the committee reports and make final decisions regarding the nominees’ appointments.
