LSK condemns the alleged conduct of police officers during the medics peaceful march

LSK President-elect Faith Odhiambo condemns the alleged conduct of police officers during the peaceful march by the Medics last week.

“The Law Society of Kenya wishes to condemn in the strongest terms possible the willful disregard to the law being demonstrated by government agencies in the recent use of police force during KMPDU protests,” Odhiambo said.

“The Police responded by deploying disproportionate force against the protesters leading to the shooting of KMPDU Secretary General Davji,” Odhiambo stated.

1,215 medical interns are awaiting postings with some having waited for over six months.

“The police seem to have taken a path of using force against professional bodies,” Odhiambo said.

The Law Society of Kenya says they will engage with Ipoa and the  Inspector General of Police to address the situation.
