Kericho farmer Richard Kimutai Ngetich is the latest Kenyan to strike it big on the SportPesa Midweek Jackpot, taking home Ksh26,987,606 after correctly predicting all 13 matches.
For Ngetich, the win was the realisation of a belief he had held for some time – that one day his persistence would pay off.
The Kericho resident says he has been playing the SportPesa Jackpot for some time and always believed that, one day, God would make the big win happen.
He placed four bets three through Quick Pick and one that he had carefully analysed. Luckily, he won from the one that he had analysed his bet. He had placed the winning bet on Friday but didn’t check his phone until Sunday. When he eventually logged into his SportPesa account, the balance left him questioning whether he was looking at his own account.
“I could not believe it was my account. I did not even believe I had won until SportPesa called me,” said Ngetich.
The farmer now plans to use his winnings to improve his family’s future, including building a home, expanding his farming activities and ensuring his children have decent housing.
