KNEC Opens Applications for KJSEA 2025 Examiner Training for Teachers

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has announced the upcoming training for examiners of the Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) 2025. According to a notice released today March 4, 2025, the training will occur during March and April 2025, beginning with online sessions followed by in-person training at designated residential venues.

Shortlisted candidates will receive instructions on accessing online materials and details about the in-person training locations. The training fee is Ksh 10,500, payable only by shortlisted applicants; payment instructions will be communicated via SMS and the application portal. Interested and qualified teachers are invited to apply for training in various subjects, including English, Kiswahili, Mathematics, Kenyan Sign Language, Integrated Science Practical, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Agriculture and Nutrition Practical, Agriculture, Home Science, and History.

To qualify, candidates must be practicing teachers or tutors registered and/or employed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) or the Public Service Commission, hold at least a Diploma in Education, have a minimum of three years of teaching experience, not be under any form of interdiction or disciplinary action, and provide a recommendation from their head of institution.

Candidates must be 50 years old or younger, with tutors from Teacher Training Colleges and TVET institutions especially encouraged to apply for Home Science. Applications can be submitted through the KNEC examiners’ portal.
