Dagoretti North MP Beatrice Elachi’s Son to Be Laid to Rest in Kajiado

The family of Dagoretti North Member of Parliament, Beatrice Elachi, is preparing to bid farewell to her son, Elvis Murakana Namenya, who tragically passed away on March 25, 2025. Elvis will be laid to rest on Saturday, March 29, at the family’s home in Nalepo Village, Kajiado County. The funeral service is scheduled to commence at 10:00 am, with the cortege departing from Lee Funeral Home at 7:00 am on the same day.

A memorial service in honor of Elvis will be held on Friday, March 28, at Holy Trinity Church in Kileleshwa, starting at 10:00 am.

At the time of his untimely demise, Elvis was a Business Studies student at Africa Nazarene University, eagerly anticipating his graduation in June 2025. He was a cherished brother, cousin, and friend to many, remembered for his warm personality and promising future.

Elvis sustained critical injuries from a road accident on March 18, when his vehicle suffered a tire burst along Thika Road and collided with guardrails. He was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at AAR Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgeries but, unfortunately, succumbed to cardiac arrest after a week of treatment.

The tragic loss has elicited an outpouring of condolences from leaders and the public. President William Ruto expressed his sympathies, stating, “Be comforted by the word of the Lord in Psalm 147:3: ‘He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.'” The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party also conveyed their support, emphasizing their solidarity with Elachi during this difficult time.
