The Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) has received a major boost after KCB Bank unveiled a Ksh 20 million sponsorship package for the 2026 Term Two Games, becoming the competition’s title and kit sponsor. The sponsorship marks the return of significant corporate backing for the prestigious school championships and reinforces KCB’s commitment to nurturing young sporting talent across the country.
Under the sponsorship agreement, Ksh 12 million will be channelled towards the purchase of playing kits and trophies, while the remaining Ksh 8 million will support fan engagement activities and activations during the regional and national championships. The bank will also use the tournament as a platform to promote environmental conservation by educating students and communities on sustainable practices that reduce carbon emissions and create healthier learning environments.
Speaking during the cheque handover ceremony in Nairobi, KCB Group Chief Risk Officer Faith Basiye said the sponsorship reflects the bank’s long-standing investment in sports development.
“The sponsorship underscores KCB’s long-standing commitment to developing sports as a catalyst for nurturing future champions while creating opportunities for them to showcase their talent, build lifelong values and pursue excellence. As a Bank, we are proud to be part of this rich legacy,” said Basiye.
KSSSA Secretary General David Ngugi welcomed the partnership, noting that it will have a lasting impact on learners and school sports across the country.
“The Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association appreciates KCB Bank for its continued commitment to the growth of school sports in Kenya. This sponsorship is a significant investment in our learners, providing them with an opportunity to compete, develop their talents and build values such as discipline, teamwork and resilience,” said Ngugi.
The regional competitions will run from July 6 to July 22 across all eight regions before culminating in the National Finals at MPESA Academy from July 28 to August 1. Schools will compete in football, volleyball, rugby sevens, basketball 3×3, netball, badminton, table tennis, lawn tennis, chess, scrabble, cricket, baseball, beach volleyball and lacrosse, among other disciplines.
KCB’s KSh20 million investment adds fresh momentum to one of Kenya’s biggest school sporting events and is expected to enhance the quality of competition while providing thousands of young athletes with a bigger stage to showcase their talent.
