In a fitting finale to the 19th edition of Dala 7s, newly crowned National Sevens Circuit champions KCB Rugby capped off their dominant season by edging defending champions Kabras Sugar 12–5 in a tense and weather-hit final in Kisumu.
The heavens opened dramatically just before kickoff, with a heavy downpour drenching the pitch and adding an extra layer of unpredictability to an already high-stakes clash. It was a classic showdown: KCB, the newly confirmed overall champions following their quarterfinal win over Strathmore Leos, against a Kabras side chasing back-to-back Dala 7s titles.
KCB struck first in the opening half, taking a 7–0 lead through composed phase play and solid execution in slippery conditions. Kabras, known for their structured style and physical edge, responded just before the break with a well-worked try to reduce the deficit to 7–5 at halftime.
As the second half kicked off, the rain eased and eventually disappeared, allowing both sides to play with more freedom. But it was KCB who adapted quicker and held their nerve when it mattered most. A second try midway through the half gave them a 12–5 lead, and despite a late push from Kabras, the bankers’ defense held firm to seal the victory.
The win not only handed KCB the Dala 7s crown but also reinforced their status as the most consistent team of the 2025 Circuit season. They had already secured the overall National Sevens Circuit title before the semifinals, having won four of the six legs. Capping off their coronation day with victory in Kisumu, KCB reclaimed the two titles that had slipped away from them last year; The Overall title they lost last year to Kenya Harlequin and the Dala 7s title they lost to Kabras Sugar.

In addition to the trophy, KCB walked away with a cash prize of Ksh 100,000, while runners-up Kabras Sugar took home Ksh 50,000 for their impressive run to the final.
They now extend their record as the most successful team in Dala 7s history, with a remarkable 7 titles to their name.
