KCB Breaks Global Barriers, Ranked 7th Most Powerful Banking Brand

Kenya’s banking giant, KCB, is making waves on the world stage, securing the 7th spot among the most valuable banking brands globally with a Brand Strength Index (BSI) score of 94.4%—a sharp rise from 91.5% in 2024. This achievement cements KCB’s position as a financial powerhouse, driven by innovation, superior customer service, and a robust business model.

In the Banking 500 2025 Report by Brand Finance, KCB also surged 30 places up in brand value rankings to position 343, proving that African banks are gaining global recognition. The report highlights Africa’s rising influence in banking, with Kenya leading the continent’s growth at an impressive 49%.

Rosalind Gichuru, KCB Group Director for Marketing and Communications, hailed the achievement as a testament to the bank’s resilience, commitment to excellence, and customer trust. “This ranking reflects our relentless pursuit of innovation and value creation. We are excited to build on this success and achieve even greater milestones,” she said.

Despite economic hurdles, African banks are carving out a formidable presence in global finance, with mobile banking and fintech driving the next phase of growth. As KCB continues to soar, it is clear that Kenya’s banking sector is not just competing—it’s setting the pace.
