Gachagua Open to 2027 Alliance with Raila – A Game-Changer for Kenyan Politics

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has expressed openness to collaborating with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga ahead of the 2027 general elections. In a recent interview with KTN, Gachagua emphasized his willingness to work with any leader committed to Kenya’s future, stating, “I am open to working with anybody who means well for the country.”

Gachagua highlighted that the people of Mount Kenya do not view Raila Odinga as an adversary. He remarked, “We have no problem with Raila. After consulting in 450 meetings in the last four months, people have asked me to look for friends.”

He further noted that the decision to collaborate with Odinga rests with the former Prime Minister, suggesting that Odinga’s choice would determine his political legacy. Gachagua stated, “It will be his personal decision to choose which side of history he wants to be on.”

Gachagua’s remarks indicate a strategic shift in his political approach, signaling a potential alliance with Odinga as the 2027 elections approach. This development could have significant implications for Kenya’s political landscape, depending on how the two leaders navigate their relationship in the lead-up to the elections.
