Gachagua and Nyakera Hold Strategic Meeting Amid Political Shifts

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua met with Irungu Nyakera, the former CEO of the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), who was dismissed by President William Ruto last week. Nyakera shared photos of their meeting on social media, emphasizing the enduring unity of the Mt. Kenya region. He stated that despite recent political challenges, the region remains more united than ever, underscoring their collective strength and resilience.

This gathering is the latest in a series of strategic consultations aimed at redefining the region’s political trajectory. In December 2024, Gachagua convened a meeting with former Members of Parliament and Members of County Assemblies from Mt. Kenya to deliberate on the region’s political future. He emphasized the necessity of these discussions to foster unity and strengthen political networks within the region.

Further signaling a shift in political dynamics, Gachagua announced plans in November 2024 to unveil a significant political movement in January 2025. He expressed that this initiative would surpass previous political alignments, stating, “The political movement that will start in this mountain in 2025. 2002 will look like a joke.”
