Despite being dethroned, Gor Mahia still have something to play for. Currently second, they must beat champions Police FC to secure a respectable finish. Any slip-up against the champions could see them fall to third should there be a winner in a clash between Kakamega Homeboyz and Tusker FC, both of whom trail K’Ogalo closely and have their eyes set on sneaking into second place.It’s a nightmare scenario for the Green Army: finish third, behind both the champions and their less-celebrated rivals. For a club with Gor Mahia’s history, anything less than second will be viewed as a humiliating fall from grace , especially losing that spot on the day their successors are being crowned.

Golden Boot Race: Shumah vs Ogam vs Osoro

The race for the golden boot offers its own subplot on the final day. Kakamega Homeboyz’s Moses Shumah leads with 17 goals, but faces a direct threat from FC Talanta’s Emmanuel Osoro (16) and Tusker’s Wesley Ogam (15), the latter of whom once led the charts before injuries derailed his campaign.Shumah’s clash with Tusker is a high-stakes encounter, but a goal could seal both second place for his club and a personal golden moment. A win likely takes them out of danger, unless Talanta, Posta, and Mara all win too.A draw or loss could see them drop, especially with their poor goal difference.
