FIFA Futsal World Rankings 2025 Shake-Up Sees New Teams and Big Climbers

The first FIFA Futsal World Rankings of 2025, released on April 4, show significant changes across both the men’s and women’s tables following intense international action. With 183 women’s matches and 192 men’s matches played, the rankings reflect a rise in global competition as teams gear up for major tournaments.

In the women’s category, Brazil maintains its top spot, closely followed by Spain, Portugal, and Argentina. However, new blood has entered the rankings, with five teams making their debut: Australia (59th), USA (73rd), England (76th), Senegal (78th), and India (79th). Australia, unbeaten in its first four official matches during the 2025 FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup qualifiers, enters the rankings with impressive momentum. March saw crucial qualification matches, with teams like Italy, Poland, and Portugal securing spots for the tournament set to begin in November in the Philippines.

On the men’s side, Brazil remains dominant in the top spot, holding a commanding lead over Portugal, while Spain has surged past Argentina to claim third. Iran and Morocco have made notable gains, as has Poland, which jumped three spots to 19th, alongside Armenia’s stunning rise from 31st to 20th. Other significant climbers include Bosnia and Herzegovina, Andorra, Latvia, and Greece, each making strides in the global futsal scene. Indonesia has also been on the rise, with a notable seven-spot climb to 21st.

The rankings signal not just the continuing supremacy of traditional futsal powerhouses like Brazil and Spain, but also the emergence of new talent and the growing competitive nature of the sport worldwide.
