Chapa Dimba Registration Ongoing as Season 5 Schedule is Released

Football dreams have often started from dusty community pitches, school grounds and neighbourhood tournaments, and over the years Safaricom Chapa Dimba has continued to prove that those dreams are valid. The competition has grown into one of the biggest youth football development platforms in the country, giving young players a genuine opportunity to showcase their talent and open doors to professional football, scholarships and international opportunities.

As registration continues for Season 5, young footballers across Kenya are once again being handed a chance to follow in the footsteps of players who once used the same platform to launch successful careers. Several former Chapa Dimba participants are now turning out for top clubs both locally and abroad, highlighting the competition’s growing reputation as a pathway to greatness.

Players such as Benson Omala, Bryton Otieno, Jane Hato and Charity Midewa are among the many names that have emerged through the tournament before progressing into competitive football environments. Others are currently featuring for clubs such as Gor Mahia, Shabana FC, Nairobi United, Bandari FC, Kenya Police Bullets and Ulinzi Stars, while some have secured opportunities in Uganda, Tanzania, Egypt and universities in the United States.

The success stories continue to inspire a new generation of players who believe football can transform their lives. What once looked like a simple youth tournament has now become a recognized talent pipeline attracting scouts, coaches and football stakeholders from across the region.

Registration for Season 5 is currently ongoing following the official launch in Kisumu on May 9, 2026, with teams and players expected to complete the process before the closing date on May 31.

According to the released schedule, Western Region matches are expected between June and August, Central Region fixtures between July and September, Nyanza Region matches between August and October, Eastern Region games between August and November, North Eastern Region fixtures between September and November, Coast Region matches between October and November, Lower Rift Region games between October and December, Upper Rift Region fixtures between November and January, while Nairobi Region matches are expected in January and February 2027 before the National Finals scheduled for March 2027.

The upcoming season is expected to once again bring together thousands of young footballers eager to prove themselves on one of the biggest youth football stages in Kenya. Beyond the trophies and medals, the competition continues to offer exposure, discipline, confidence and hope to talented players who may otherwise never get the opportunity to be seen.

For many participants, Chapa Dimba is not just about football. It is about believing that talent from any village, estate or school can one day reach national and international recognition.

Young players and teams have now been encouraged to register early and prepare for another exciting season that could potentially change their lives forever.
