Sudanese giants Al Merreikh SC have officially announced the signing of Ghanaian midfielder Enoch Morrison, bringing an end to his successful 2 year stint with Kpl Giants Gor Mahia FC and ushering in a new chapter in his career.
In a statement accompanying his unveiling, Al Merreikh described the Black Stars midfielder as a “new soldier in the leader’s battalion” and welcomed him to Sudan’s most decorated club, expressing confidence that he would leave his mark just like many champions before him. Morrison has signed a long-term contract that will keep him at the club until 2029.

The move comes after an outstanding 2025/26 season in which Morrison established himself as one of the standout performers in the SportPesa League. The midfield maestro played a pivotal role in Gor Mahia’s record-extending 22nd league title triumph, becoming the heartbeat of the side with a series of commanding displays throughout the campaign.
His influence was evident in the numbers. Across 30 appearances, the Ghanaian scored 3 goals and registered 4 assists while earning a remarkable 15 Man of the Match awards , the highest tally recorded in the league.
Morrison’s exceptional campaign was recognized by the club as he was Voted Gor mahia player of the Season, he was further recognized during the 2026 SportPesa League Gala Night, where he scooped the league’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) award, was named Midfielder of the Season and secured a place in the Team of the Season.

Before making his mark in Kenya, Morrison rose to prominence in Ghana with King Faisal during the 2021/22 season, performances that earned him a move to Asante Kotoko. After two productive seasons with the Porcupine Warriors, he opted for a new challenge abroad and joined Gor Mahia ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.
He quickly established himself as one of the league’s most influential midfielders, combining creativity, consistency and leadership to become a fan favourite among the K’Ogalo faithful. After first unproductive season , he guided K’Ogalo to 22nd league title.
Now officially unveiled by Al Merreikh SC, Morrison departs Kenyan football having left an indelible mark on Gor Mahia and the Sportpesa League. As he embarks on a new adventure in Sudan, the 2026 MVP will be hoping to replicate the success that made him one of East Africa’s most celebrated midfielders.
Gor Mahia now face the difficult task of finding a player capable of filling the void left by the Ghanaian. Morrison joins Al Merreikh as a free agent after his contract with K’Ogalo expired, with negotiations over an extension failing to produce a breakthrough. It had been widely believed that talks would resume after his holiday in Ghana, but the move to Sudan has now brought the curtain down on his memorable spell in Kenya.
