Round 15 of the FKF Kenyan Premier League continued to underline the competition’s volatile mix of drama on and off the pitch, with shock results, an abandoned fixture, and a summit-changing victory shaping a turbulent weekend.
The matchweek began in stunning fashion at the MISC Kasarani, where Shabana FC stunned KCB with a 3–1 victory to climb into third place on the table ahead of Sunday’s action. The Kisii-based side made full use of their momentum, delivering a statement performance that further tightened the race at the top.
Attention then shifted to Dandora Stadium, where the highly anticipated clash between Gor Mahia and Nairobi United descended into chaos. The fixture was abandoned in the 58th minute with the score level at 1–1 after crowd unrest spilled onto the pitch. Ebenezer Adu-kwaw had given Gor Mahia the lead before Ovella Ochieng equalized for Nairobi United in what had been an evenly contested encounter.
The situation deteriorated when objects were hurled from the stands, creating an unsafe environment for players and match officials. The fallout extended beyond the pitch, with Gor Mahia’s team bus windows smashed and the league broadcaster Azam’s OB van vandalised, its screens destroyed by stone-throwing supporters. Despite attempts by security personnel to restore order, the referee, in consultation with officials, was forced to abandon the match. The incident is now before the FKF Leagues and Competitions Committee, which will rule on the fate of the fixture and possible sanctions.

Away from Nairobi, Tusker FC seized the moment to move to the top of the standings after edging APS Bomet 1–0 at Kericho Green Stadium. Dennis Oguta’s decisive strike earned the Brewers maximum points, lifting them to the summit, one point clear of Gor Mahia as they await the outcome of the abandoned Dandora match. Tusker showed composure under late pressure to secure a result that strengthened their title credentials.
At the Coast, Bandari FC finally ended a five-match winless run with a narrow 1–0 victory over Mathare United at Mbaraki Sports Ground. Amza Ndayou’s calmly taken penalty proved decisive as the Dockers managed the game well to ease pressure after a difficult spell.

Round 15 action resumes on Monday and Tuesday, with four matches lined up tomorrow and one more scheduled for Tuesday, as the league attempts to refocus following a weekend marked by both compelling football and troubling scenes off the field.
