NCBA Bank has partnered with the Private and International Preparatory Schools Sports Association (PIPSSA) as its Exclusive Financial Services Partner for the 2026/2027 academic year, marking a significant investment in youth development, education, and community impact. The partnership was announced during the PIPSSA Under-11 Soccer Tournament at Crawford International School, where the bank presented PIPSSA with a sponsorship cheque of KES. 1,000,000 million.
As part of the partnership, NCBA will support sporting programmes, equipment, competitions, and facilities across PIPSSA’s annual calendar of events. The partnership provides NCBA with the opportunity to engage a network of more than 35 private and international schools and over 10,000 student-athletes and their families, one of the largest and most influential school sports ecosystems in the country.
School sports continue to play an important role in developing young talent in Kenya, providing learners with opportunities to build confidence, discipline, teamwork, leadership, and resilience while pursuing excellence both in and beyond the classroom. Through this partnership, NCBA and PIPSSA aim to create more opportunities for young people to learn, compete, and grow.
Speaking during the launch, Dennis Njau, Group Director, Retail Banking, NCBA Group, said: “At NCBA, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to discover their potential and pursue their ambitions. This partnership is about much more than sport. It is about investing in future leaders, building stronger communities, and creating opportunities that enable young people to thrive.
Through our purpose of Banking on Belief and our commitment to Empowering Ambition, we want to support not only students, but also schools, teachers and parents by providing practical solutions that help them achieve their goals. Together with PIPSSA, we are helping create an environment where young people can realize their potential and ultimately change their story.”
The partnership extends beyond the sporting field by delivering value across the education ecosystem.
Schools will have access to NCBA’s integrated financial solutions, including infrastructure financing, asset finance, transaction banking, digital collections, insurance and investment solutions designed to support growth and operational efficiency. These solutions can support investments in learning facilities, sports infrastructure, school transportation, technology and other assets critical to delivering quality education.
Teachers and school staff will benefit from access to personal banking, personal financing and wealth-creation solutions under the Workplace Banking proposition that supports their personal and professional aspirations. Parents will also have access to NCBA’s broader suite of financial solutions, including home ownership and vehicle financing options as well as digital and card products through the Bank’s wider lifestyle and financing ecosystem.
Commenting on the partnership, PIPSSA Chairlady Jedidah Munyua said: “We are delighted to welcome NCBA as our Exclusive Financial Services Partner. This partnership is founded on shared values of youth development, education and community impact. With NCBA’s support, we will strengthen our programmes, expand opportunities for learners and continue using sport as a platform to develop character, leadership and excellence among young people.”
The partnership also aligns with NCBA’s Change the Story agenda, which seeks to empower individuals, families and communities through initiatives that create meaningful opportunities and long-term impact. Through investments in education, sport and sustainability, NCBA continues to support programmes that help young people realize their ambitions and build brighter futures.
The initiative builds on NCBA’s wider commitment to sports development through programmes such as the NCBA Golf Series’ Junior Golf Programme, which continue to create opportunities for young athletes to develop their skills and compete at higher levels. Through these initiatives, the Bank has supported the development of emerging talent while reinforcing the role of sport as a vehicle for personal growth and community development.
Beyond sport, the partnership incorporates a sustainability component through treeplanting initiatives across PIPSSA member schools. During the launch event, NCBA and PIPSSA planted trees at Crawford International School, reinforcing a shared commitment to environmental conservation and responsible citizenship among young people.
During the event, NCBA also showcased its dedicated proposition for private and international schools, bringing together financing, transaction banking, digital collections, insurance, investment and banking solutions into a single integrated offering tailored to the needs of educational institutions.
The partnership reflects NCBA’s continued commitment to Banking on Belief, Empowering Ambition, and creating opportunities that enable schools, families and communities to succeed.
