My Cabinet Could Have Done Better – President Ruto

President William Ruto now admits that his Cabinet could have done more to help him manage the country.

Speaking in a media interview on Sunday evening, the Head of State stated that he will now have to reflect on how to go with his cabinet.

When asked if he had trust in his cabinet, the President responded:

“The Cabinet I have maybe could have done better and I am going to do soul searching on how we are going to move forward.”

Nation Media Group’s Editor-in-Chief Joe Ageyo, Citizen TV Editorial Director Linus Kaikai, and KTN and Spice FM broadcaster Eric Latiff moderated the interview.

The remark came after President Ruto promised a big shake-up in his administration soon in response to a tremendous outcry from concerned Kenyans demanding reform.

The President was asked to explain why he would keep the same team of advisors, despite the fact that they are responsible for several of his unpopular initiatives, such as tax increases.

Without additional clarification, the president promised to realign his government with the new realities that the country is experiencing.

“Watch this space,” the President stated in response to the shake-up question.

The President has faced significant pressure to restructure his administration, with several Kenyans claiming that some appointees have failed to fulfill public expectations.

However, the President responded that, while there are widespread expectations that some senior officials from his government be fired, this must be done in a fair and just manner.

Ruto stated that if there is any evidence linking a Cabinet member to a crime, he will not hesitate to remove them from office.

“I am a fair person and believer in the rule of law. The moment we will have a minister charged in court, believe me, I will take the necessary action,” he said.
