Host nation Morocco and Zambia both booked their places in the quarterfinals, while DR Congo exited the tournament, and Senegal now face an anxious wait to see if they will advance as one of the best third-placed teams.

At the Stade Moulay Hassan, Zambia edged DR Congo 1-0 in the early kickoff. Racheal Kundananji, the Copper Queens’ attacking spearhead, struck a stunning free-kick in the 8th minute, her third goal of the tournament to secure a crucial win and lift Zambia on summit temporarily before Morocco vs Senegal encounter.

Later that evening, in front of a lively crowd at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, Morocco’s Atlas Lionesses continued their unbeaten run with a gritty 1-0 victory over Senegal. Yasmin Mrabet converted from the penalty spot after Anissa Lahmari was fouled in the box. Despite squandering multiple chances , including two open goals missed by the tournament’s top scorer Ghizzlane Chebbak, Morocco held on to seal top spot in the group.

With both Morocco and Zambia finishing on 7 points, it is the host nation that tops Group A on superior goal difference.
