Wanga Slams Gachagua Over GEMA Victory Claims

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) National Chairperson Gladys Wanga has expressed concerns over recent remarks by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who claimed that the party’s future electoral success is assured due to support from the Gikuyu, Embu, Meru, and Akamba (GEMA) communities. Wanga criticized Gachagua’s focus on “non-issues” and accused him of engaging in premature politics instead of addressing the pressing challenges facing Kenyans.

This is not the first time Wanga has publicly addressed Gachagua’s comments. In September 2024, she denounced his “shareholding bile,” suggesting that his remarks were driven by personal interests rather than genuine concern for the nation’s welfare.

Wanga’s latest comments highlight ongoing tensions within the political landscape, as leaders navigate the complexities of coalition dynamics and regional support bases in anticipation of future elections.
