The Public Service Commission (PSC) has denied that it employed former Royal Media Services journalist Jacque Maribe.
Maribe is now the chief of communication in the Ministry of Public Service, led by Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria.
Her appointment follows her acquittal in Monica Kimani’s murder case, which had been pending in court for over six years.
In a press release published Thursday, however, the Commission denied the appointment, stating that it had no participation in the position’s recruiting.
“For the record, the said position will be filled through a competitive recruitment process should a vacancy arise,” the statement attributed to Commission chair Anthony Muchiri reads.
The statement by PSC followed reports by the CS confirming the appointment.
“Kuria is quoted to have said that “it is true except that I am not the one who appointed her but the Public Service Commission,” it adds.
Maribe attributed her accomplishment to being sincere when she spoke last Sunday, adding that “God is revealing himself in her new appointment”.
“The truth, which always sets us all free, has worked and I thank God for everything. Let us wait and see if the hand of God is revealing itself in my new appointment,” Maribe added.
