KMTC and Edith Cowan University Forge Strategic Partnership to Enhance Medical Training

The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) recently welcomed a delegation from Edith Cowan University (ECU) of Australia to explore collaborative opportunities aimed at advancing medical and health sciences education. The meeting focused on curriculum transformation, integrating emerging technologies, enhancing teaching and research, and incorporating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into medical education. This partnership seeks to align KMTC’s programs with global standards, enhancing its competitiveness in international health education.

Dr. Kelly Oluoch, KMTC’s CEO, emphasized the importance of international collaborations in improving academic quality and fostering innovation in teaching and learning. The proposed partnership includes forming a joint working committee to guide curriculum reviews, support joint research, and organize exchange programs, preparing students for global healthcare roles. Additionally, plans involve incorporating digital skills, AI, and hands-on learning into training, as well as facilitating opportunities for students to study abroad and gain international experience.
