The video falsely depicted CNN journalist Fareed Zakaria praising Kenya’s diplomatic efforts in Sudan. Sing’Oei expressed regret for any confusion caused and thanked those who identified the video as a deepfake.

In his statement, Sing’Oei acknowledged the mistake and outlined steps to prevent future incidents. He mentioned that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is collaborating with partners and technology companies to explore the potential of watermarking AI-generated content to ensure such material is not mistaken for human-generated content.
