Diamond Trust Bank (DTB) and the Inter-Religious Council of Kenya (IRCK) hosted a vibrant Interfaith Iftar Dinner at Movenpick Hotel in Nairobi. The event, themed “Strengthening Bonds of Peace, Unity, and Diversity,” brought together over 400 guests, including government officials, diplomats, and religious leaders from across faiths.
The evening was a testament to Kenya’s rich religious diversity, with leaders from Muslim, Christian, Hindu, and Sikh communities breaking bread together in the spirit of understanding.
DTB Group CEO Nasim Devji underscored the importance of interfaith harmony, stating, “This evening, as we sit together—Muslims, Christians, Hindus, Sikhs, and people of all beliefs—we recognize that these values are not exclusive to any one faith but are shared by all. This is the true essence of unity.”
She further highlighted DTB’s commitment to inclusivity, saying, “We firmly believe that businesses, communities, and institutions all have a role to play in fostering understanding. Through financial inclusion, responsible business practices, and social impact initiatives, we aim to uplift all communities, regardless of faith or background.”
Health Cabinet Secretary Hon. Aden Duale echoed this message, urging Kenyans to embrace religious tolerance. “Our differences should bring us together, not divide us. Each of us has a role in fostering peace, unity, and love. That is the true meaning of nationhood.”
Now in its third consecutive year, the DTB-IRCK Interfaith Iftar Dinner has become a symbol of Kenya’s unwavering commitment to cohesion and diversity—proving that faith, unity, and respect can build bridges that transcend differences.
