Sports Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya on Wednesday, 7th May 2025, presided over the groundbreaking ceremony for the Suba-South Talent and Sports Academy at Magunga Primary School. The KSh 55 million project aims to revolutionize sports development in the region by identifying, nurturing, and commercializing local talent.

The academy will include an eight-lane athletics track, football, basketball, and netball pitches, two changing rooms, a borehole and supporting water infrastructure, and a social hall. Once complete, the facility is expected to become a regional hub for talent development and community empowerment.
