Naivas, MOFA, Migori Keep It Tight as Mombasa United Tops NSL After Matchday 2

Matchday 2 of the 2025/26 FKF National Super League (NSL) lived up to its growing billing, delivering drama, late goals, and emerging narratives across the country. Four clubs, Naivas FC, MOFA, Migori Youth, and Mombasa United have now recorded back-to-back wins, but it’s Mombasa United who lead the table on superior goals scored , despite being the only one in that group to have conceded a goal.

In Ngong KIBHT grounds, Naivas FC stayed perfect with a narrow 1-0 victory over MCF FC, thanks to a strike by Davies Agesa. The win keeps the retail-backed side near the summit, with two wins and two clean sheets to show for their measured, efficient start.

Over in Wundanyi, Nzoia Sugar saw victory slip through their hands in a wild 2-2 draw against hosts Mwatate United. Goals from Wycliffe Wanyonyi and Felix Seda had Nzoia twice ahead, but Felix Busaka and Kuanpel Deng hit back for Mwatate. Late controversy over a handball in the Nzoia box left the Sugar Millers frustrated.

At Vapour Grounds, Equity Bank FC brushed aside Kabati Youth FC 3-1. A brace from Bevex Kapansa and a goal from Omar Kipngetich powered the bankers past the newcomers, who found a consolation through Kelvin Mwaura.

MOFA FC continued their unbeaten run with a 1-0 win away to Vihiga United at Jomo Kenyatta Stadium, Mamboleo. Laban struck just two minutes in, and the visitors held firm for a second straight clean sheet. MOFA’s no-nonsense defending and narrow wins have them firmly in the early promotion conversation.

Migori Youth claimed another statement win, beating FC Talanta 1-0 at Dandora Stadium, Nairobi. Syphas Otieno struck in the first half to earn a second clean sheet and second win for the Awendo-based side, who have been solid at both ends so far.

Nairobi City Stars finally got off the mark in the NSL with a 1-0 win over Luanda Villa at Kenyatta Stadium. Joshua Amunike scored their first goal of the season in a morale-boosting result after their opening-day slip.

In Embu, 3K FC sealed a 1-0 win over Darajani Gogo FC in a match that also served as the unveiling of several new 3K signings. The winning goal came in the 65th minute after Ateya delivered a well-placed free kick, met by a decisive header from Mejja. The visitors’ woes deepened after a red card in the 88th minute to key defender , compounding a frustrating afternoon.

Kibera Black Stars picked up their first win of the campaign with a 1-0 success away to Kisumu All Stars, thanks to a 43rd-minute effort from Bundi. Meanwhile, at Serani Sports Complex, Mombasa United fought back from a goal down to beat Fortune Sacco 2-1. Despite conceding once again, their attack, powered by goals from Emmanuel and Onchiri, has put them top of the standings on superior goal difference.
