MozzartBet Commits Ksh 18 Million to Power Grassroots Football, Sponsors Three NSL Clubs

In a landmark gesture aimed at bolstering grassroots football in Kenya, leading gaming firm MozzartBet has announced a Ksh 18 million sponsorship package for three National Super League (NSL) clubs ahead of the 2025/26 season. The historic deal was officially launched today at a high-profile event held at the Serena Hotel in Nairobi, attended by Football Kenya Federation (FKF) officials, club representatives, and MozzartBet executives.

The sponsorship sees Kisumu All Stars, Migori Youth FC, and 3K FC from Embu each receiving a total of Ksh 6 million. Of this, Ksh 5 million will be channelled directly into club operations, while an additional Ksh 1 million will cover playing kits and off-pitch apparel.

MozzartBet Kenya Country Manager Sasa Krneta, speaking during the unveiling, described the occasion as a proud moment not just for the company, but for Kenyan football at large.

“Today’s grand gathering at the iconic Serena Hotel is not only to announce sponsorship, but to reaffirm our long-standing commitment to the heartbeat of Kenyan football, its grassroots,” said Krneta.

“To the three clubs we are partnering with, media support fuels your ambition, inspires your fans and helps you soar higher in the upcoming season.”

He also hinted at broader ambitions beyond the NSL:

I hope this is not the end. We will look at the possibility of supporting more teams, even those in the Kenya Premier League, depending on our budget. With the FKF leadership, we are confident about the direction football in this country is taking.

FKF President Hussein Mohammed echoed the sentiment, praising MozzartBet for coming on board at a crucial time. He acknowledged the daily struggles many NSL teams face and hailed the partnership as a “historic moment” in the journey to uplift Kenyan football.

“Every Friday last season was a nightmare for many of these clubs. What Mozzart has done today is not just corporate responsibility; it is a great service to Kenyan football,” said the FKF President. “It shows that there is trust, and that the corporate world is starting to believe in our game again.”

He also underscored FKF’s continued commitment to grassroots football development:

“For over 21 years, my focus has been on the grassroots, right from the Super 8 and Extreme Sports days. That commitment continues. From the sub-county to the county leagues, to Division One and NSL, our goal is to develop a sustainable pipeline of talent that eventually feeds into the top-tier KPL.”

Hussein further challenged the three sponsored clubs to embrace professional standards, calling for increased physical discipline and accountability in how they manage the funds.

The sponsorship also serves as a precursor to future collaborations, with the FKF President hinting at an expanded version of the annual MozzartBet Cup, potentially featuring more grassroots teams across the country.
