Harambee Stars to Feature in CECAFA Four Nations Cup as CHAN Preparations Intensify

As part of their build-up to the 2024 TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN), Harambee Stars will participate in the CECAFA Four Nations Cup, scheduled to take place from 24th to 27th July 2025 at Karatu Stadium in Arusha, Tanzania.

The mini-tournament is being organized by the three CHAN 2024 co-hosts—Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda—with South Sudan invited as the guest team.

The competition will serve as a critical test for head coach Benni McCarthy, who is expected to use the matches to evaluate his provisional 30-man squad before naming the final team for CHAN 2024. With less than two weeks to the continental tournament, the Four Nations Cup offers a perfect platform for tactical fine-tuning and squad selection.

This four-nation tournament also reflects the unity among the CHAN 2024 co-hosts and is being viewed as both a logistical trial and a footballing showcase ahead of the main event. For Kenya, it offers a timely opportunity to sharpen competitive edge, build chemistry, and iron out tactical approaches before opening their CHAN campaign in early August.
