The Confederation of African Football (CAF) will hold its 47th Ordinary General Assembly on Monday, 6 October 2025, in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo. The annual gathering is expected to bring together key figures from across the African football landscape, including the presidents of all 54 CAF Member Associations, delegates from the six Zonal Unions, and senior football administrators from across the continent.
Among the items scheduled for discussion are strategic football matters affecting the continent, including a review of the TotalEnergies CHAN 2024 tournament co-hosted successfully in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. The assembly will also touch on preparations for the upcoming TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025, set to take place in Morocco.
Other core agenda points include financial governance within CAF, development of women’s football, and an assessment of the recently concluded 2024 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), also hosted by Morocco. Stakeholders are expected to deliberate on further steps to strengthen women’s competitions, boost investments, and expand youth development pathways across the continent among other agendas.
Kenya will be represented by Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Hussein Mohammed and NEC Member for Nyanza Region, Kalee Collins. The duo are expected to depart for Kinshasa on Monday morning to join the rest of the continental football leadership for the deliberations.
CAF’s Ordinary General Assembly serves as the organization’s highest decision-making forum, offering a platform to adopt key reforms, review progress, and align member associations with the broader vision of growing African football at all levels. The Kinshasa assembly comes at a pivotal time, as CAF intensifies its efforts to professionalize football management, promote transparency, and ensure sustained progress in both men’s and women’s competitions across the continent.
