Busia Senator Okiya Omtata was involved in a minor road accident Thursday evening near Ojolla on the Kisumu-Busia route.

The senator’s saloon car, which was driving towards Busia, was struck by a truck ascending the Ojola high slope near Maseno.

According to reports, the truck was going upward when it had a brake problem and began rolling back, colliding with Omtata’s car on the right side.

Allan Mwangi, the Nyanza Regional Traffic Boss, verified the occurrence, saying the Senator’s car was slightly damaged as a consequence of the reverse contact.

Mwangi stated that the Senator was not hurt in the collision and continued on his route.

Both cars were transported to the Maseno Police Station for additional examination.
