Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga is grieving the loss of his long-time personal aide and bodyguard, George Oduor, who passed away on Tuesday evening in Nairobi after a brief illness.

Oduor, who had been hospitalized for two weeks, served the Odinga family with unwavering dedication for over three decades. His commitment spanned from protecting Raila’s father, the late Jaramogi Oginga Odinga, to providing steadfast security and support to Raila himself.

In a heartfelt tribute, Raila described Oduor as “a vigilant, calm, confident, and extremely professional aide, dedicated to duty and a dependable rock” throughout numerous challenges. He extended condolences to Oduor’s wife, Carol George, and his extended family.
