Ukraine and Russia Warn its Citizens Against Visiting Nairobi’s Central Business District

The Russian and Ukrainian governments have issued travel recommendations to its people in Kenya, urging them to be cautious in the face of continuous anti-government rallies in Nairobi and other regions of the country.

Russia and Ukraine issued separate security alerts urging its residents not to visit the Nairobi City Centre on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.

“In connection with the possible holding of protest actions in the city of Nairobi on July 2-04, 2024, we advise you, if possible, to refrain from visiting the central part of the city and carefully monitor information from Kenyan law enforcement agencies,” said the Ukraine Embassy.

Activists and youth in the country have vowed to intensify their campaigns against President Ruto, which began two weeks ago.

The youth have declared Tuesday and Thursday official holidays for the “OccupyEverywhere” movement, calling on all Kenyans to hold sit-down protests on key roadways across the country on those days.
