The Kenya Prisons Service has announced the recruitment of prison constables for both men and women. Officially announced the criteria for individuals aspiring to join its ranks. Prospective applicants must be Kenyan citizens aged between 18 and 28 years. A minimum Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) grade of D+ is required. Applicants should possess a valid National Identity Card, have no criminal record, and be physically and mentally fit. Physical standards include a minimum height of 5 feet 4 inches for men and 5 feet 2 inches for women, along with good hearing and clear vision. Female candidates must not be pregnant at the time of recruitment and during training.
The recruitment exercise is scheduled for April 30, 2025., and will be conducted countrywide. Candidates are advised to arrive early at their designated centers with all required documents, including original identification card, birth certificate, KRA PIN certificate, academic certificates, and other testimonials. The training program for successful candidates will last not less than nine months. It’s important to note that the recruitment process is free of charge, and any form of bribery or corruption is strictly prohibited. Additionally, presenting falsified documents will lead to disqualification and possible legal action.
