The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) main examinations officially began on Monday morning.
Officials from the Ministry of Education arrived at various exam collection centres early in the morning to oversee the distribution of exam materials.
Basic Education Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang led the exercise at the Westlands DCC centre, while Teachers Service Commission (CEO) Nancy Macharia oversaw the exam distribution at the Mvita centre in Mombasa County.
“Our focus should be on value addition to our students. Whatever results that our children will get is from the input of our teams in schools,” Kipsang said in a media address on Monday.
After sitting practical exams, the candidates will now attend to main subjects, an exercise that will come to an end on November 24, 2023.
