Interior Principal Secretary Dr Raymond Omollo has urged leaders from the Nyanza region to stop placing conditions on President William Ruto, saying the Head of State is already delivering development without coercion.
Speaking on Sunday in Nyatike Sub-county, Omollo said residents of Nyanza do not require any formal or written agreement with President Ruto to benefit from government development projects.
“What President Ruto is doing is economic justice, and he is doing it willingly,” Omollo said. “Let us not allow any leader to coerce or issue conditions to the President. He is already delivering what he promised and what is in the best interest of the country.”
The Interior PS noted that the President has continued to invest in development projects across the Nyanza region despite the absence of any political pact, arguing that this demonstrates Ruto’s willingness to work with leaders and residents from the area.
Omollo expressed confidence that Kenyans would assess the President based on his development record when the country heads to the polls in 2027.
“Kenyans will judge leaders by what they have done for them,” he said.
Uriri MP Mark Nyamitta echoed Omollo’s remarks, calling on leaders to avoid what he described as unnecessary political distractions and focus on service delivery.
Meanwhile, Alego Usonga MP Sam Atandi urged Luo leaders to close ranks and work together to advance development across the region.
