The race for the position of Chairperson of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has intensified, with 37 individuals shortlisted for the role. Among the notable candidates are former Chief Registrar Anne Amadi, ex-IEBC CEO James Oswago, and former Constitution Implementation Committee Chair Charles Nyachae.

The Selection Panel, led by Dr. Nelson Makanda, conducted a thorough vetting process, eliminating duplicate and incomplete applications to arrive at the final list. Dr. Makanda confirmed that the panel is progressing to the shortlisting phase, with interviews to follow thereafter.

In addition to the chairperson applicants, 1,319 individuals have been shortlisted for the positions of IEBC members. This diverse pool includes six women, 31 men, and three persons living with disabilities, reflecting a broad spectrum of expertise and backgrounds.
