Kenya’s top-flight football returns next month with a fresh wave of excitement , and for the first time in nearly three seasons, the league comes with a title sponsor. SportPesa has been unveiled as the official sponsor of the FKF Premier League in a long-term deal, bringing much-needed financial relief in the form of prize money and commercial support. This partnership joins forces with Azam TV, the league’s broadcast partner, to give the competition a major boost both on and off the pitch.
The new season will officially kick off on Saturday 20 September 2025, ushering in three days of opening-round action, alongside a few matches yet to be scheduled due to continental football commitments.
Defending champions Kenya Police FC will launch their title defence against Mara Sugar at Police Sacco Stadium on a date to be confirmed, as the law enforcers prepare for CAF Champions League preliminary matches. League debutants Nairobi United, also flying Kenya’s flag in continental football, face a tough away trip to Kakamega Homeboyz at Bukhungu Stadium in another fixture awaiting confirmation.

As teams gear up for the new season, record champions Gor Mahia are making no secret of their ambition to reclaim the crown from Police FC. The club has raided rivals and the national team setup, landing Mohammed Siraj (Bandari), Lewis Bandi (AFC Leopards), Michael Kibwage (Tusker), Felix Oluoch (Posta Rangers), Bryne Omondi (Bandari), Veron Ombima (Darajani Gogo) and Bandari captain Fidel Origa.With 10 players from the current Harambee Stars CHAN squad now in their ranks, K’Ogalo’s squad depth looks formidable. They start their campaign against Bidco United at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.
