Kenya Pipeline Company underlined their status as the dominant force in Kenyan women’s volleyball after staging a spirited comeback to retain the 2025/26 Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) Women’s National League title.
The Oilers overcame Kenya Prisons 2-1 in the best-of-three finals, sealing the championship with a straight-sets victory in the deciding match. Pipeline edged a tightly contested encounter 25-22, 25-23, 25-22 to successfully defend the crown after recovering from defeat in the opening fixture of the series.
The triumph was a fitting conclusion to a season in which Pipeline consistently proved why they remain one of the country’s most successful volleyball outfits. Their ability to bounce back when it mattered most reflected the resilience, experience and composure that have become synonymous with the club.
While Kenya Prisons threatened to wrestle the title away by taking the first match of the finals, Geoffrey Omondi’s side refused to surrender. They responded with two successive victories, turning the series around to ensure the league trophy remained in their cabinet.
The title-winning performance was built on a campaign that had already showcased Pipeline’s quality long before the finals. The club had established itself as the pacesetter during the regular season, finishing ahead of the chasing pack through a string of commanding displays.
Their momentum carried into the knockout rounds, where DCI found no answer to Pipeline’s dominance. The defending champions swept through both semi-final matches in straight sets, earning a place in the finals without dropping a single set and sending a strong warning to their rivals.
Success on the domestic front was only one chapter of an impressive season. Pipeline also made their presence felt beyond Kenya’s borders, claiming a bronze medal at the African Club Championship before travelling to Rwanda and lifting the 26th Genocide Memorial Tournament title with an unbeaten run.
Those achievements underline the club’s consistency on both the local and international stage, reinforcing their reputation as one of Africa’s leading women’s volleyball teams.
With another league title safely secured, Pipeline have once again demonstrated that dethroning them remains one of the biggest challenges in Kenyan volleyball. Their latest triumph not only rewards months of hard work but also strengthens their legacy as the standard-bearers of the women’s game in the country.
