Bayern Munich vs Ajax: Tickets for Historic Talanta Stadium Opener Go on Sale Today

Tickets for the highly anticipated FC Bayern Munich versus AFC Ajax Amsterdam clash at the Raila Odinga International Stadium will officially go on sale today, November 5, at 6.00pm , with prices starting at Ksh. 2,500.

The January 5, 2027 encounter will mark the official inauguration of the 60,000-seater stadium at Talanta Sports City, bringing two of Europe’s most decorated football clubs to Kenyan soil for a landmark occasion.

In a press statement released on Thursday, Sports Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya confirmed that tickets will be sold exclusively through the official website, www.TalantaSportsCity.com, with sales released in phases across different seating categories.

The government has urged supporters to purchase tickets through authorised channels and make payments only to verified accounts to guard against fraudulent transactions. It also cautioned that tickets in sold-out categories may not be available during subsequent sales phases.

Skyboxes and premium hospitality packages will also be offered, providing exclusive matchday experiences. Enquiries and bookings for these packages will be handled through the dedicated hospitality channel.

Mvurya further disclosed that both clubs have made written commitments to bring their strongest possible first-team line-ups, dismissing any suggestion that the fixture would feature legends or academy players.

“Both clubs have committed to presenting their strongest possible first-team line-ups,” Mvurya stated, underlining the significance of the encounter.

Beyond the football spectacle, the event is expected to provide a major test of Kenya’s capacity to host international sporting competitions. The 12-hour fan festival, international entertainment acts, concierge services and other activities will form part of the matchday experience.

The Cabinet Secretary said the fixture would also serve as a critical dress rehearsal for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, which Kenya will co-host alongside Uganda and Tanzania.

The AFCON 2027 Local Organising Committee has been directed to spearhead preparations in collaboration with government agencies, sporting stakeholders and private-sector partners. Stadium operations, security, transport, hospitality and crowd management will be among the key areas put to the test.

According to Mvurya, the encounter is fully funded through private-sector support, reflecting growing corporate confidence in Kenya’s sports industry.

The government hopes the occasion will strengthen Kenya’s position as a destination for major international sporting events while unlocking opportunities in sports tourism and investment.
