The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has officially confirmed the dates, venues, and opponents for the eagerly anticipated FKF Premier League promotion/relegation playoff. In a statement sent to newsrooms, the federation announced that Posta Rangers will take on Naivas FC in a decisive two-legged tie to determine who earns a place in the 2025/26 FKF Premier League.
The first leg will be played on Saturday, June 28 at Machakos Stadium, with the return leg scheduled for Wednesday, July 2 at the SportPesa Arena in Murang’a. The winner on aggregate will claim a coveted spot in the top flight.

Posta Rangers earned the playoff slot after a hard-fought 1-1 draw away to Bandari FC in Mombasa on the final day of the Premier League season — a result that preserved their hopes of retaining top-tier status.
Meanwhile, Naivas FC sealed their place in the playoffs in dramatic fashion. They thrashed newly crowned National Super League (NSL) champions Nairobi United 3-0 in their final match, a result that saw them edge out Darajani Gogo for third place on goal difference, with both sides finishing level on points.
This will be Naivas FC’s second consecutive appearance in the promotion playoffs. Last season, they narrowly missed out on promotion after falling to Sofapaka FC, who managed to retain their FKF Premier League status.

With promotion to the top flight at stake, the tie promises high stakes and intense competition. Both clubs will be fighting not just for a place in the FKF Premier League but for pride, momentum, and a significant step in their respective journeys.
